Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives. Bridging psychological research and frontline social action to foster equity, resilience, and mental health nationwide.
The Community Psychology Association of India (CPAI) is an esteemed professional society founded in 1988 at the University of Lucknow. Registered under the Society Act of the Government of India and affiliated with SCRA (APA Division 27), CPAI brings together psychologists, educators, social workers, and community architects dedicated to research-driven advocacy and humanitarian resilience.
Our mission is to foster holistic mental health at the grassroots level, conduct empirical studies, support community counseling hubs, and actively shape public policy for progressive and inclusive development.
In addition to hosting national and international conventions—including the upcoming World Congress on Community Psychology in December 2027—CPAI regularly publishes the peer-reviewed Indian Journal of Community Psychology (IJCP) and a quarterly academic e-bulletin.
